How to delete your account in the app

Can't access the app? Request deletion by email

If you can't access your account in the app, email privacy@liferbirding.com with:

• Your account email address
• A statement requesting account deletion
• Your name, for verification

We process deletion requests within 30 days.

What is permanently deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently and irreversibly remove:

• Your login (you can no longer sign in)
• Your profile details: name, email, username, profile photo, and bio
• Your saved location data
• Your capture photos
• Your badges and achievements
• Your leaderboard placements
• Your notification and device settings

What is kept in anonymised form

To keep community statistics and species data accurate, we retain your capture records (the species, date, and location of each sighting) in an anonymised form. Once your account is deleted, these records are no longer linked to you, your name, or your email, and cannot be used to identify you.

If you would prefer that this anonymised data is also erased, you can request a full erasure (see below).

Request a full erasure

If you want everything removed, including your anonymised capture records, email privacy@liferbirding.com and ask for a full erasure under the Australian Privacy Act. We'll remove all remaining records and confirm when it's done.

Operational data we retain briefly

For security and reliability, a limited amount of operational data persists for a short time after deletion, then is automatically removed:

• Crash and diagnostic data, retained for up to 30 days
• Server logs, retained for up to 30 days for security purposes
• Aggregated, anonymised analytics that are not linked to your identity

None of this data can identify you personally.
